Lisa and Darrell - Jamaica Wedding! Sneak Peek

Back at the end of March, I had the privilege of embarking on a grand adventure to Jamaica, to photograph Lisa and Darrell's wedding. It was the first time I had travelled anywhere like that before, and it did not disappoint!  Lisa's aunt Heather (who is a good friend of ours) recommended me to Lisa (thanks Heather!) many months ago, and I can't tell you how excited I was to photograph their wedding in paradise! As it turns out, Lisa and I are actually related, and didn't even know it until after I was booked as her photographer (how funny is that?).  Thanks again Lisa and Darrell for the opportunity to photograph your beautiful Jamaican wedding! So without further delay, here are some sneak peeks of the wedding (which took place at the beautiful Gran Bahia Principe Resort in Runaway Bay, Jamaica):

Below you will see Lisa's Dad wearing a hat that several of us in the group purchased at the resort, from a local Jamaican who made them in a matter of minutes. We all thought they were so unique!

The wedding ceremony took place at the wedding gazebo, which was a quick walk down the beach and out to the water. What a beautiful backdrop for a wedding :)  Here you will see the guys making their way to the gazebo:

And another cool addition to the day? This Jamaican band, playing music at the ceremony. Loved it!

Here's Darrell.... looking calm... and maybe just a tad sunburned!! :)

The crowd anxiously awaiting Lisa's arrival...

Lisa enjoying a last-minute laugh with her Dad before walking down the aisle:

Darrell as he catches a first glimpse of his bride on her way down the aisle:

Sealed with a kiss.....

This photo is one of my faves from the whole day - it just feels so candid and so real - very in the moment....

And finally, the newlyweds enjoying the beach and the sun beginning to set....

I will have more photos to follow in the coming weeks, but I hope you enjoy this little sneak peek! Congrats again Lisa and Darrell!!

What a Beautiful Redhead!

Just before I went away to Jamaica, I had a fantastic session with a gorgeous little redhead named Anna. Her mom and I grew up in Barnaby together, so I was thrilled to photograph Anna while she and her Mom were home for a visit.

I recently was able to get a lot of new handmade crochet items from my Aunt E, she's fantastic.... some of you local folks may already know about her fantastic hats and other items from the Chatham Farmer's Market. Anyhow, we've been going over some ideas for new things for photo props, and I am just so happy with what she made me. Wait until you see the owl hat - gorgeous! Anna was more than happy to model a few things:

I just loved the expressions Anna was giving me. Like in this next one - what a smirk - she looks like she's just laying back, totally relaxing - thinking how great this is!

Next we brought out my white tutu, some pearls and some baby legs.... the fun continues!!

Anna's mom had a very vibrant red feather boa, and we just couldn't leave that unused... Anna LOVED it :)

This next photo is one of my favourites from our session - I just love the innocent and dreamy look in her eyes...

And... my personal favourite from the session. This black and white photo just jumped out at me while I was editing this session, and I can't believe how different Anna looks in this photo compared to the others.

Kari I had such a fantastic time with you and Anna, I hope to see you the next time you're home!! Enjoy your photos!!

Taelyn and Kamryn

About a month ago, I had the pleasure of meeting these two little cousins from Napan. They are such cuties! I had loads of fun photographing all their little expressions :)

First up, miss Taelyn....

Taelyn has SUCH beautiful eyes.... I just love how they are captured in these next few photos:

Next.... miss Kamryn :)

Kamryn was getting pretty sleepy towards the end of our session, and I thought we were done. But we managed to get these super-cute sleepy shots as well. She loves her Nan`s rings, so I made sure to incorporate those :)

These two little dolls were a joy to photograph..... thank you ladies for entrusting me with photographing them at this precious age. I hope you are pleased with the results :)
